Full service law firm, headquartered in Stockport, is looking to appoint a Business Development Manager.

We are a full service law firm offering high quality expertise across company commercial, real estate, litigation, conveyancing and private client services. The client base is diverse ranging from large corporates, SMEs, entrepreneurs and individual clients.

Working closely with the senior management team, this is a strategic appointment implementing policy and managing the firm’s PR, Business Development and Client Assessment. With gravitas, and excellent communication (both persuasive negotiation and listening) skills, you will be able to work effectively within the firm harnessing ideas, implementing initiatives and project managing.

Whilst all applications will be considered, we expect the person appointed will have not less than 4 years’ experience in legal marketing or within another area of professional services. We would also be delighted to hear from qualified lawyers, who wish to focus their future careers in marketing having undertaken a pro-active role in business development whilst practising.

Key responsibilities and duties will include but not limited to:

  • Implementing the firm’s Business Development strategy and policies,
  • Liaising with specialist legal teams to understand their objectives,
  • Managing relationships and events with clients, intermediaries and all relevant contacts,
  • Organising seminars, client and networking events,
  • Branding and PR communications,
  • Press releases, accreditations, legal service directories and awards,

JOB TITLE: Corporate Paralegal

PQE REQUIRED: 6 months+ experience

THE ROLE:

This is a pivotal role within the corporate team where you will be expected to review a variety of banking and corporate documentation, which will include facility agreements, security documents, deeds and various ancillary documents. You will be completing Companies House/HMLR forms and attending to registration at appropriate public registers. You will also be expected to liaise with clients, external solicitors, in-house counsel and foreign counsel,

THE CANDIDATE:

The successful Corporate Paralegal will have had at least six months experience working within a corporate department and will have a broad understanding of the work that is undertaken. The Corporate Paralegal will be able to prioritise and plan your work appropriately, meeting deadlines set at all times, coupled with a professional attitude towards their work. In addition, the appointed Corporate Paralegal will have excellent communication and IT skills include use of Microsoft packages.

Commercial Property Department

We are keen to further improve their commercial property offering with the recruitment of a commercial property solicitor with 2 years’ plus PQE. The Partner lead team is extremely busy with all manner of property work including landlord and tenant, lease negotiation and renewals, lease assignments and sub lettings, development, acquisitions and disposals, rent reviews, licence applications and options/promotional agreements.

Clients of the firm include retailers, property investors, private companies. It is envisaged that the salary bracket for this role is between £35,000 and £42,000 depending upon experience.

Commercial Litigation Department

We advise and act on behalf of large commercial companies, SMEs, owner managed businesses, high net worth individuals and insolvency practitioners. We provide personalised, dynamic and commercial advice, ensuring that we secure the best deal for our clients, which often involves Alternative Dispute Resolution, including mediation.

Responsible for your own case load you’ll also assist the Head of the Commercial Litigation Department on more complex mattes and will have the opportunity to mentor more junior members of the team. You will enjoy high levels of client contact from the outset and will be exposed to a variety of commercial litigation work, including:

  • complex commercial contract claims
  • company/shareholder disputes
  • restrictive covenant actions
  • IT disputes
  • construction disputes
  • professional negligence claims
  • property litigation
  • intellectual property
  • corporate and personal insolvency
  • contentious probate

You’ll work directly with our Managing Partner who is keen to share her wealth of experience; mentoring and developing talent. You will be fully supported in order to gain exposure to or further advance your skills on more complex, high value disputes.

  • Ideally between 2-4 years pqe
  • A technically strong candidate who has experience of and enjoys working on a wide range of commercial disputes

You will be a senior and experienced RTA Litigator, managing others, with expertise and a track record of maximising settlements for your clients and generating high fee levels.

You will have good IT skills, be familiar with case management software, experience using Proclaim will be advantageous, you will have a knowledge of RTA law and be able to progress and champion the claimant’s rights at each stage of RTA litigation process, following the full cycle through to achieve the desired settlement.

You will be good with clients and effective dealing with other parties, their insurers and agents, agencies, authorities and medical service providers. You will meet and exceed the service levels required by the department’s Service Level Agreements. (1) Vetting new RTA claims to assess merits;

(2) Making outbound call to Clients to welcome them to the business and obtain missing information; and

(3) Creating the new claim on Proclaim and generating all initial documentation. Ideally you will have some experience in dealing with clients/customers and/or processing RTA claims.

You do not need to have any previous Legal Experience, but a good High School education will be vital if you are to succeed and flourish in this challenging role.
